This book just arrived yesterday (2/24). What a page turner. Deb Soule is my kind of gal and she writes beautifully. She understands that unless we change our gardening practices in vast numbers, we run the risk of further failing health and a continued demise of our birds, butterflies and honey bees. Her answer to this is to be pro active on the farm using both organic and in particular biodynamic methods. Taking the time to explain Rudolph Steiner's applications of BD 500 - BD 508 as well as how that is influenced by the phases of the moon.Deb then switches gears and gives a marvelous accounting of healing herbs. How to grow, how to harvest, when to harvest and then what to do with them for teas etc.What I found delightfully consistent throughout the book is Deb's genuine gratitude and appreciation for the cycles of growing her herbs and the cycles of the seasons and the moon. All of which she weaves into her writing in such a joyous manner.She has done extensive traveling, which has contributed greatly to her personal growth and ability to connect to others. Deb is a teacher at heart who just wants others to connect passionately to the garden and all it has to offer. While on a grander scale gardening in a responsible manner that contributes to healing our planet.This book is a must for anyone who is just beginning to garden to those who have gardened for years. You will find yourself wanting to purchase more copies to share with all your gardening friends.

This book is packed with information that helps me become more spiritually and ecologically connected with the earth. I love how Deb writes...she is so grounded and sincere. I've already begun using some of her guidance and sense a difference in the energy of plants/woods around me and in myself. Thank you,Deb. BTW, if you haven't checked out her website, do so. I purchased some of her tinctures and her peaceful heart tea. They are superb and my body responds better to her tinctures than others I've used in the past.

Excellent source of a basic understanding of biodynamic gardening. Deb does a great job of explaining what biodynamic gardening includes and how a beginner can incorporate some of these practices in their own gardens. Easy read.

LOVE this book and will share it with my girl friends.

The actual gardening discussion is good, but I did not care for all the eastern religious stuff.

this is a very beautiful book, well suited to a beginning gardener/herbalist. i returned it because it offered no help to me at this point in my studies, and i have no room for books which are not useful. i would recommend it highly with those provisos in mind.

Moving like a gardener reminds one that working in the garden is a spiritual experience and requires reverence for the earth. Being a gardener is growth as much for the human as it is for the plants.

No, for real, this book is great. It's got real talk about what it's really like to be a bridesmaid (written by an actual MoH- all the other books I looked at on Amazon were written by brides or wedding planners).Example of situation: planning the bachelorette party and the mothers of the bride and groom want to come too. First off, bachelorette parties are hardly covered in any of the other books (if at all). None mention how to deal with moms wanting to come along (just tell them no, fyi. The mother of the groom doesn't want to see her future daughter-in-law drunk and talking sex, the bride's mom will be emotional about her baby girl getting married, and the bridesmaids will all be uncomfortable). This book is the cheapest thing you'll buy in regards to the wedding, so just get it already.

There are so many books out there for the bride, be it humorous or Miss Manners style, but there's been nothing like this for the bridesmaid -- until now. How do you know what you're supposed to do as soon as you accept your excited friend's request to be in her wedding? If you don't know, you're either going to A) end up being bossed around for the next year or two, or B) make a horrible mistake and she'll hate you forever. Both scenarios can be avoided by reading this book. It gives the crucial information needed to be a successful support to the bride, all the while peppered with hilarious stories of what NOT to do. Wow. I do not have the gift of writing but Jaqueline sure does. Having been a bridesmaid and maid of honor in numerous weddings, this author is right on. It's funny, but true. It's insightful and a great how-to without being boring or dumb. I couldn't put it down. It made me laugh, cry, and gasp. I would give this to anyone getting married. I would give this to all my bridesmaids and have a good laugh and chat about the impending doom of this thing we call weddings. Weddings are inevitable. Unfortunately when we are too young and dumb to prepare or have a functional thought about what our roles are and how to execute them in a manner that will last a lifetime. Thank You Jaqueline for writing such a fun book, that is useful, insightful, and true. Can you write one about baby showers and births next?
