I read this book and this book is really about living in the present, as represented by the objects with which we choose to surround ourselves and i really enjoy and appreciate the kind of books that are based on simple universal truths and just happen to also hold the potential to change your life in some incredibly positive way and this is one of those books that resonates with me and that I would highly recommend to anyone and the basic premises of the book is to remove anything in your house that doesn't bring you joy and the author challenges you to physically hold everything you own.

Minimalism and decluttering go hand in hand. Marie Kondo was the first author who showed the world the art of Japanese minimalism. There are degrees of minimalism, such as becoming as minimalist as possible. Sasaki Fuimo is an example of such a person who decided to change his lifestyle. It was not a matter of money but a conscious choice to believe less can be more. Minimalism is a term you may hear often. Various artistic styles exist, such as Hygge (pronounced Hooga) and the Japanese art of minimalism. If you think about minimalism as we define it around decluttering your life—it’s the same concept. Great read and suggestions for all. I prefer this eBook.

This is an interesting book. Organized in short chapters so it's an easy read and it's certainly not technical. The most interesting angle is the stages of decluttering, or maybe the viewpoint is better. E.g. it's easy and obvious to just clean out the closets. But from there can one make do without certain items of furniture which may have been in the family for years.People who bash minimalism don’t understand what it is. It’s not about living with as few possessions as possible, rather, it’s living with just what you need to be happy and nothing more. When that pile of boxes that has been sitting in the garage for 10 years causes you to feel overwhelmed just thinking about getting rid of it, you definitely have more stuff than what you need to be happy. It’s time to purge and free yourself from the burden of taking care of it, thinking about it, and wasting space on it. This book can change your life!

This book is very helpful and practical. The instructions are very clear, describes properly each chapter. More freedom, more space, more clarity, more room in our life for the things that give me joy. You will be motivate, when you will read 2nd chapter in this book. Thanks to author, really it was awesome with new experience.

It only took reading up through the introduction to realize that the author was going to patronize the reader throughout the rest of the text. Rest assured, this proved to be the case. Sprinkled between countless pages of repetitive restatements of the basic thesis were borderline childish examples of "you can do it" and "well, now you've done it". Were these exact words used, not to my memory, but the general, cookie-cutter theme from chapter to chapter was a barrage of "This is my thesis, this is what I will talk about, this is me talking about it, this is what I just said... now you're a master!" Aside from the handful of typos and subtle lack of Author credibility (not counting the paragraph on the back cover) this book only got the stars it did for, at the very least, presenting information that may help the disorganized and the hoarders of the world. However, the manner in which the author chooses to patronize and insist upon the reader was found by this reader to be insulting and proved to create a cold experience, fraught with loose promises, blanket statements, and superficiality. Two stars at the very most.

Minimalism is my favorite kind of art. I liked this book very much. I will recommend this book to my friends.

I never thought I could be organized until I read this book and this book is really about living in the present, as represented by the objects with which we choose to surround ourselves and i really enjoy and appreciate the kind of books that are based on simple universal truths and just happen to also hold the potential to change your life in some incredibly positive way and this is one of those books that resonates with me and that I would highly recommend to anyone and the basic premises of the book is to remove anything in your house that doesn't bring you joy and the author challenges you to physically hold everything you own and decide whether this "sparks joy" in you or not and he also recommends doing this by category instead of room and for instance, he starts with clothing and he says to take every piece of clothing in your house, go through each one individually and decide if it brings you joy and if not get rid of it and he also says you should store things grouped by category and this book has changed my life and i know there are so many 'self-help' books out there on organizing, cleaning out, changing your lifestyle, "New Year New You" etc. But this is the only one that has actually done anything for me and it got me so excited and I breezed through it in about 3 days and the application is SIMPLE and she actually walks you through it step by step instead of just talking about cleaning and organization philosophy fluff most of the time and it's concise, which I appreciate and you don't get lost in it and give up and it also emphasizes getting rid of things, not just putting junk it in nice looking containers and baskets to make it appear organized.

The book is filled with useful information and practical tips to manage your thoughts, your stress and more importantly your life. Highly recommended. Thanks Phillip Lark for writing a helpful book .
